Background

The Community Nutrition Group (CNG) of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) has been active since 1974 sharing strategies on nutrition and dietetics, in primary care, public health, health promotion departments and keeping Dietitians up to date with the wider food and health community. The BDA Public Health Nutrition Network (PHNN) is a new initiative moving on from the work of CNG. It will highlight the importance of Public Health Nutrition and provide opportunities to network and develop food and nutrition planning policy and action.

Here is your chance to be part of the action on the nutrition and health strategic agenda. Effective food and nutrition policy and action is vital in improving public health and health care services. Come and join other health care professionals at this interactive networking session to consider how we can influence others to recognise this. We will look at examples of public health nutrition action in different settings and consider strategies to keep food and public health nutrition on everyone’s agenda.

Objective of this session

To share strategies on food and public health nutrition and look at ways to influence action on public health nutrition in the health care services and the wider community.
